Contribution of the GMU:
- TASK 3.1. [GMU, WISMAR, AALTO] Prevention-related research: Review and knowledge gap analysis
The objective of Task 3.1. is to provide a state-of-the-art review of decision support systems developed for or applied in the Baltic Sea area concerning methods focusing on preventing operational or accidental risks. Five aspects are considered for each method: i) scope and content, in particular, what risks are aimed to prevent; ii) the underlying scientific basis (risk/safety perspective, applied modeling tool); iii) knowledge gap analysis (strength of the underlying evidence and knowledge gaps); iv) the method end-user (e.g. ship operators, Vessel Traffic Service personnel); and v) the effectiveness of the methods (extent of validation, cost-effectiveness, and technology readiness level).
- TASK 5.1. [WMU, AALTO, HSW, UH, GMU, UTARTU] Success of research uptake and suggestions for enhancement
- TASK 5.2. [AALTO, WMU, HSW, UH, GMU, UTARTU] Review and analysis of future research priorities and innovation needs
GMU-involved deliverables:
D3.1 [SP/RE]: Review and knowledge gaps of shipping-related decision support systems for prevention.
The deliverable 3.1. was prepared as a scientific paper (SP):
